Chogela Camp provides a true African slice of heaven, with a great local feel and in a prime location. Located just 10 kilometres from Ruaha National Park – Tanzania's largest national park – this camp is one of the most accessible and inexpensive in the area. Accommodation includes comfortable permanent cabin-style tents or sheltered areas to park and pitch your own tent. The facilities are clean and have flushing toilets and showers, there's a big kitchen, lounge, dining area and bar, and our staff are wonderfully friendly and always happy to help. The camp is on the outskirts of the village of Tungamalenga, where you can get fresh food, cold drinks and a feel for village life. Just a short drive from the national park, you are able to pop in for the day to see the giant baobabs, rocky outcrops, the largest population of elephants in East Africa, packs of highly endangered wild dogs and more than 450 bird species. Or spend a day on a cultural tour visiting the nearby Maasai Bomas or learning skills from local craftsmen. Whatever you are looking for, Chogela Camp aims to provide you with all the information, comforts and facilities you will need during your visit. So come relax with us in the African Bushlands. We hope to see you soon.
